Safe place for our teenagers to 'chill'

The Bar’n‘bus has been active for some time now and although its been cold it is becoming a popular safe and supervised place to socialise with friends on Friday evenings. The Bar’N‘bus is a safe haven for young people to come and chat and play games on Friday evenings. Its a converted double decker bus which is maned by a team of enthusiastic volunteers from the Christian Churches in Maldon. It serves free hot and cold drinks and snacks (eg doughnuts & biscuits) and provide a warm friendly environment where teenagers can listen to music, chat and play Wii and XBox etc. The bus will be situated in the Promenade Park car park, Fridays, 8pm till 10pm.
The team of volunteers are made up of volunteers from the local churches in Maldon. All are required to have youth work training and undergo a DBS / CRB Police check and are there just to supervise the young visitors. But we welcome the chance to chat and interact if the young people wish to and are posted in and around the bus as deemed necessary by the team leadership.
The Bar’n‘bus is at the Prom. Park most Friday evenings from 8pm till 10pm.
We aim to bring you further details as the project develops, as well as details of how you can get involved in what promises to be a really worthwhile venture… watch this space? Bar’N‘Bus is a charitable trust that is dedicated to Educating, Supporting, and Encouraging young people and is working in partnership with local churches to serve communities.
